Samsung has decided to early reveal some of the products
coming to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) on Jan. 6 to Jan. 9,
following the lead of LG in audio. The most eye-catching announcement in
the audio department has to be the 360-degree egg-style speakers,
formally named the WAM6500 and WAM7500.
The speakers feature an oval shape design for holding the
audio and a metal-bar surrounding the speaker. The 360-degree audio
should fill the whole room, according to Samsung. The WAM6500 is the
smaller of the two and Samsung wants it to be used a portable speaker,
with the metal handle making it easy for carrying around. Both feature
subtle controls on the sides of the ring.

Samsung did not go into detail about the audio
specifications inside the WAM6500 or WAM7500, the company will most
likely show off the specs at CES in the coming days.
Other audio announcements included a new 9.1 channel sound
bar, which will be part of the 8500 series. Samsung is looking to
compete on the high-end sound bar market, currently dominated by Sonos
and Vizio.
“We know how much people love music and that’s why we are
expanding our portfolio to bring high-quality, wireless audio into the
home,” said Jurack Chae, Senior Vice President at Samsung Electronics.
Samsung has a lot to show at CES, considering its electronics
portfolio expands beyond phones and tablets into TVs, dishwashers,
fridges, monitors, desktops and much more. Expect more than a few
surprises from the South Korean electronics giant this year.
